In this blog I explore the two defining goals of Islamic terrorist organisations. Hemorrhage and Radicalisation. I will look at the two in some depth, and cover how they are and should be countered.

Keating and the CTax
If you have a spare 20 minutes, you can listen to former Prime Minister Paul Keating give a long and detailed explanation as to why a Carbon Tax is an important reform and the Direct Action Plan is flawed.
I admit that I'm a fan of Keating --even as, generally, an ideological opponent.
It's worth a look, if you are interested in the CTax. He also gives a prediction of Chinese energy demand growth, weighs in on the News of the World scandal and implications on the free press (naturally, he takes the chance to have a bash at News Corp. with invitation from Tony Jones).
Though I do note that the ALP is much more willing to trundle Keating out and take off his leash than previously, since he used to bite the Rudd govt. nearly as much as he did the Libs.

GM Eco-terrorism
If you read the comments in my previous blog, you may have noticed I had emailed my local Labor MP with many questions about the CTax. I did this at his invitation. Several days have passed and since I haven't received a response, at least not yet (and I will post a blog with his response if I get one).
In the mean time, I'll take a path away from the CTax and share my thoughts on something else.
Namely, Eco terrorism.

Finding Carbon Tax Facts
First of all let me clarify that although I am quite critical of the carbon tax, I am going to do my best to give the other side a fair go. My point and purpose in this blog is to find, analyse and conclude what I can about the facts of the tax, and also to look at the predictions of the parties' and outsiders. Hopefully, by the end of the blog, we can bring some sort of short, coherent and accurate statement about the Carbon taxes' chances.

Setting the Stage
As the first post in this blog, I would like to 'set the stage', to define the context of where I'm coming from and the world of Australian politics as it is today.
Julia Gillard has been in power for just over a year after replacing Kevin Rudd with Brutus inspired precision. She defended her position at the last election, but only thanks to the support of three of four lower house independents. It also saw the rise of the Greens, who have just taken the balance of power in the senate.
